More from Barcelona

So today we caught the hop on / hop off bus. If Sue were here that's what she would have wanted. A great way to get around. Funny but the brilliant dry day from yesterday turned into a wet affair and with only a rudimentary roof and no windows on the top deck things got quite wet. Still we stuck it out for several hours. I had wanted to get off and explore Park Guell, another of Gaudi's creations but it was too wet to contemplate. We stayed on the bus until our tummies were rumbling and it was time to seek out some food. Found a great (and inexpensive) tapas bar in the uber-ritzy Passeig de Gracias area (home to all the haute couture brands). Very tasty as you might imagine from the photos.

After lunch I found some paper pulp in my top pocket and turfed that in the bin along with my ticket for the hop on / hop off bus. Without it the conductor was not adamant I was not going to rejoin the bus for the rest of the trip. No matter I had a receipt from the sales booth. Utterly disinterested. OK, try the next bus. Similar story. Maybe I should go to the head office and explain but same deal there as well. Poor form and thumbs down to Barcelona City Tour. At this stage Mick was keen to see the small remainder of the loop we had not already travelled and so I waved him goodbye whilst I boarded the Metro and headed to ark Guell as, by this time, the sun was shining again. Got some interesting pics from a really cool place but had to be content with snapping away from outside the park walls. Long queues and limited time available. Not sure they really do it justice.

This crazy dude was busking outside Park Guell. Every second word was the f-bomb but he was enjoying himself and getting plenty of laughs

No visible means of support. When I asked him to remove his right hand from the pole he didn't seem to understand.
Finally back to the unit for a beer and wait until it's time to head back out to the airport to pick up Rixy in the car. Tomorrow we're all off to Zaragoza and the day after it's bums on saddles.

Until then...
